Dr. Nichols Quest
Dr. Nichols was first introduced to the science and art of spinal curve restoration while attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. With interest in implementing this science in his own Manhattan, Kansas practice, he carefully examined the research, the methodology and the practicality of applying these protocols. Interested in improving the existing methods of applying the science in patient therapy, Dr. Nichols began a dialogue with Galen Ackerman, founder of a manufacturing firm located in Sabetha, Kansas. Nichols sought Ackerman's past experience in conceptualizing, patenting and refining products.

iTrac™ System Development
Their initial dialogue, combined with several years of product development, produced the iTrac™ system, a computerized patient therapy system that effectively delivers the proven mechanotherapy to patients in a safe and comfortable manner.

Hardware Features
Dr. Nichols’ two decades of personal involvement in student & recreational athletics and his keen interest and formal training in Kinesiology (study of the mechanics of the human body in motion) provide him a deep understanding of human anatomy. This background was key in the development of the unique features of the iTrac system:

  • Computer controlled progressive application of pneumatically generated traction forces
  • Modern presentation of state-of-the-art technology
  • Versatility – capable of more than 50 unique treatment configurations quickly, easily and precisely

The iTrac™ system delivers proven mechanotherapy protocols to patients in a technologically advanced manner. The system offers the following benefits:

  • Precise computer control results in consistent, repeatable treatments and reduces the risk of human error.
  • State-of-the-art, ergonomic design enhances a modern office environment and improves patient compliance and comfort.
  • Compact footprint and wireless communication allows maximum utilization of valuable office space.

Software Features

  • Digital data processing and file storage allows instant development, administration and viewing of patient treatment plans.
  • Variable Rate Progressive Traction™ specifically designed to match the viscoelastic property of soft tissues maximizes patient comfort and effectiveness of traction treatment by dramatically reducing the amount of stress-relaxation exhibited by the soft-tissues being treated.
  • Effective patient management software allows the doctor to record and monitor patient progress and easily enter and retrieve exam and x-ray information.
  • Automatic generation of patient-specific range of motion animations provides the doctor with an excellent patient education tool.
  • Automatic generation of professional Patient Progress Reports, complete with side-by-side before and after comparisons of the patient’s range of motion examination values and x-ray images.
